WHEN THIS GUY’S WORKING, HE JUST CLOWNS AROUND

Like the pied piper, when Peter Nikopoulis walks the streets of Gouves, children usually follow.

Of course, the over-sized red shoes, baggy pants, painted face and colourful balloons twisted into the shape of animals may have something to do with enticing his youthful followers.

Peter The Clown, as he is known in the “trade,” has been doing his thing on Kato Gouves’ main shopping street for the past four seasons.

“I just love kids, and the fact that I can make them laugh is something that I will always treasure,” Peter said. “It’s a thrill for me to see their faces light up in wonderment when I twist balloons into the shape of animals or ferry boats.”

While kids are his main audience, Peter has performed for many adult groups, too.

In the 10 years since beginning his career as a clown and balloon twister, Peter, a Greek-Canadian, has appeared as an animator and, for several years, as a performer for several Italian circuses, including the popular Circa Roma.

In addition to street performing, Peter’s act is a popular addition to children’s parties, as well as adult gatherings, such as weddings and christenings.

He is available for bookings at 6939-423777.
