Beginning with this issue, The
Ko-Go Khronicles, the bilingual monthly community newspaper, has
been re-named The Khronicles, with the new name appearing in both
English and Greek (Τα Χρονικά)
on its masthead, it was
announced by the newspaper’s management. “The new name reflects our expanding readership throughout the entire Gouves Township, and into adjoining areas such as Hersonissos,” said Sofia Klidi, publisher of the monthly news publication. “Together with the name change, we’ve expanded to 32 pages and will also increase distribution to accommodate the new demographics.” |
In the original name of the newspaper, which
was introduced in May, 2006, the letters Ko-Go represented Kokkini
Hani, Gouves and Gournes, three important villages in the Gouves Township. “The Khronicles was a four-page black and white publication printed only in English at that time,” Ms. Klidi said. “Now we are running 32 pages, half of which are in colour, and approximately 50 percent of our editorial content and advertisements are written in Greek as well as English. We’ve been contemplating this name change for some time now.” |
