OUR SENIOR CITIZENS HAVE DAY OF THEIR OWN
  Sixty five senior citizens from the Gouves Township were treated to an outing as part of last month’s celebration marking the Annual International Day of Older Persons, which was designated by the United Nations in recognition of the growing importance of seniors in our society.

The day’s outing was sponsored by the township and coordinated by the staff of the Gouves Help at Home program.

Two buses transported the happy seniors to a day’s tour of Aghio Nikolao, Elounda and Plaka. The festivities included refreshments by the lake at Aghio Nikolao, and, from Plaka, the activities continued, with a scenic boat trip to Spinalonga.

 

 All expenses for the outing were paid for by the township, according to a spokesperson for Help at Home.
