Milestone:

Happy 60^th Birthday to Lavender Connolly, long-time Ano Gouves resident. Thirty of her close friends were on hand for the surprise party in The Bull in Kato Gouves. The festivities included a hot and cold buffet, a cake, fireworks . . . and lots of surprises and gifts.

The Spice-y Gals:  

Louise Tzikouthe of Elia, takes “center” stage at the Annual Ladies Christmas Party held at the Ideal Bar in Kokkini Hani. Louise, who organized the extravaganza, said all the ladies let their hair down . . . again! A buffet was provided and the karaoke was organized by Mihalis Vamvoudakis.

St. Nicholas was here:  

About a hundred people were on hand to greet St. Nicholas at the annual Dutch Christmas celebration, called  “Nederlandse Vereniging Het Klokhuis”,” which was organized by the Dutch School in Piskopiano and subsidized by the Dutch Government. Held at The Bull in Kato Gouves, drinks and traditional Dutch sweets were served by helpers, called “Zwarte Pieten” Black Peters.

Wedding Bells:

Antonios Lambrakis of Kokkini Hani tied the knot with Anastasia Voyiatzi of Thassos at a ceremony at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church in Gournes. The reception followed at the Palladium in Anopoli. Antonios and Anastasia have been together for 11 years and were engaged in 2003. It’s about time!
