INGREDIENTS
20 tbsp walnuts 20 tbsp semolina – fine 20 tbsp sugar 13 eggs 1 cup cognac or ouzo 2 tsp baking powder ½ tsp cinnamon ½ tsp cloves – powder
For the syrup
3 glasses sugar 3 glasses water The juice from ½ lemon
PREPARATION
In one bowl whip egg yolks with sugar. In another bowl
whip egg whites well and add to the bowl with the yolks. Whip again. Add the
cognac or ouzo and whip some more. Toss the walnuts together with the
semolina, cinnamon and cloves and add to the mixture. Then add the baking
powder and mix well.
Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200 degrees.

Prepare syrup and leave it to cool.
When the cake is ready, pour the cool syrup over it or
leave cake to cool and pour warm syrup over it.
