EPIPHANY IN GOUVES TOWNSHIP

Epiphany

GOURNES:

At the Gournes water blessing ceremony, Dimitris Psilakis holds up the cross, which earned him a gold cross on a chain. The other two divers received icons.

REFRESHMENTS:

Members of the Cultural Association of Gournes were on hand to provide snacks and refreshments for more than 200 people who turned out for the ceremony at the marina.

KATO GOUVES:

Kato Gouves held its water blessing ceremony in front of Aghios Konstantinos Church. Five divers, including two girls, participated, and the first cross was retrieved by Yiannis Rompoyiannakis.

Epiphany

KOKKINI HANI:

Almost 300 people witnessed four divers compete for the cross at the Kokkini Hani water blessing, but it was Manolis Kalathakis who was the first to bring it back. He was given a gold cross, while the other divers received remembrance gifts.

CRETAQUARIUM:

Crete Archbishop Irineos (center) joined the Gournes parish priests for the blessing of the waters of the CretAquarium. The cross was thrown into the aquarium’s main tank, where Diver Dimitris Apostolakis was on hand to retrieve it.
