TRAVELING ON
Phuket

The cold of winter has finally set in, but instead of gathering logs and lighting up your fireplace, why not travel to a warmer place?

A great destination to warm you inside and out is Thailand.

And right now prices for value are super, so there’s no reason for you to be walking around in Cretan rain and mud when you can be basking in the sun on the island of Phuket, which has kilometers of white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters.

Thailand offers something for everyone . . . shopping, relaxation, nature and history, not to mention a superb nightlife scene.

The Thai people are also some of the friendliest in all of Asia, and the country is sometimes referred to as LOS, or land of smiles.

I have visited Thailand several times and one of the main reasons I would like to revisit is the warmth of its people, which is as warm as the climate itself.

Thailand, and its many islands, is also a paradise for underwater diving, snorkeling and fishing.

Whether you are a scuba diver or fisherman, you can charter your own boat, or join with group charter, which will take you out to some of the most beautiful natural places for diving or big game fishing.

Equally exciting is the Thai cuisine, which will give your taste buds a workout.

Thai Cuisine

It features hot spicy food with many exotic flavors mixed in, such as lemon grass, lime, coconut, herbs, ginger, all mixed and cooked in ways that will awaken your senses.

Local seafood is very reasonably priced, not to mention that you will probably see the largest prawns in your life, which are skewered and barbequed. One prawn fills one skewer, just to get an idea of size.

Shopping in Thailand is a delight if you like to bargain, and let’s face it, who doesn’t these days.

Everything is negotiable from the first price quoted, so haggling here is expected.  If your bargaining powers are up to par, you will find many items at cheap prices.

However, since most of the brand names you see are not original, you’ll be bargaining for a copy, so you should pay much less, anyway.

Follow the sun and the richness of a new destination, filled with new sights, sounds, and smells which will enrich you. There is no reason for you to be here, get your bags out and pack for your trip to Thailand, one that will remain memorable for the rest of your life.
