INGREDIENTS:

cup oil 2
cups coarse semolina 3
cups sugar 4
cups water 1
cinnamon stick 10
whole cloves Orange zest Cinnamon powder for dusting
Optional:
1
cup walnuts coarsely chopped ½
cup blonde raisins
PREPARATION:
Put
the water in a bowl, then add sugar to dissolve, and add cloves, cinnamon
stick and orange zest.
Heat
oil in a pot on medium-high, add semolina and stir with wooden spoon until
it is golden brown. Then, add the sugar-water, stir, let it boil for about
five minutes and turn off the heat but leave the pot on the hot element
covered with a paper towel for another five minutes.
Add
the walnuts and raisins, stir and cover again.
When
all the water is absorbed the halva is ready. Dust with cinnamon and serve.
