CARNIVAL TIME

Carnival

Dutch School: Lovely song and dance routines got everyone on their feet at the annual festival of the Klokhuis Dutch School in Piskopiano. This year’s event, at The Bull in Kato Gouves, was attended by more than 40 kids and their parents, who enjoyed a buffet and drinks. More than 150 prizes were raffled off.

Malia Madness: Thousands of gaily-costumed partygoers poured onto the streets of Malia for the fun, festivities and parade, complete with numerous floats. The good-times lasted well into the night. The Malia Carnival, or Mardi Gras, is one of the largest on Crete.

Kinder-Carnival: Approximately 150 big and small people enjoyed the Carnival Party and Dance sponsored by the Kokkini Hani Kindergarten. This was the 7th annual carnival event for the school, and featured a fancy dress party with a clown, games, food, gifts and lots of fun. It was held at the melody Club in Kokkini Hani.

Art School: Salome, also known as Panayiotis Anastasiathis, and his wife (dressed as his wife), get into the swing of things at the Carnival Party sponsored by the Parents Association of the Art School on the old American base.
