Representatives from major hotel
chains throughout Greece
descended on Kokkini Hani to discuss career prospects in the tourism
industry with students of O.T.E.K. (the Organization of Tourism, Education
and Training).
The event, held in the Xenia Helios
Hotel, was the annual careers convention of the school, which provides
education and training for professions in the field of tourism.
Yiorgos Aplathas, an instructor,
said the convention is an important event for the students, and for most of
them it would be their first venture into a real work environment.
Ioulia Manousaki of Rethymnon,
and Haris Peroyiannakis from Iraklion, who were seeking employment in
catering at one of the big Elounda hotels, were among the hundreds of
students who filled out job applications during the career day.
