LIFE WORTH LIVING

By Hrisoula Tzortzaki

Welcome Spring!

Often, the daily routine – the problems and the difficulties in life – render us incapable of observing the beauty which surrounds us.

And so we end up with a heavy heart every day in our house not being able to enjoy the beauty which is plentiful around us.

We set off each morning for work ignoring shamelessly the scents and images surrounding us.

We go to sleep at night, expecting, if not demanding, for the next day to arrive.

We have become well-tendered robots functioning as our buttons are pushed, and not from our own free will.

But what if that doesn’t happen? What if the next day doesn’t come? What if we knew that the next few days will be our last?

All would be different then. We would observe and feel everything. We wouldn’t let a moment pass without giving it a special meaning. We would feel happy for what’s happening now and not for what could happen in the future.

Nature is made so harmoniously that if we would begin to observe it we would receive some of its harmony in our own lives.

The spring is the most ideal season for this to happen. Let’s welcome the next day with a smile, love and gratitude.

We owe it not just to ourselves and to those around us, but also to our Creator, who made such a beautiful world for us to live in and enjoy.

It’s time then to stop muttering about too much work, life’s mishaps, back pains, the stock market, food prices and get up from the couch and television, or the office and the computer.

It’s time we appreciate all which is given to us with love.

Go on then!

A torrent of colors and scents unfolds at our feet. Let’s take that chance to live. Let’s welcome spring in our life and in our soul!
