The recent 2^nd Cretan Interclub Championship Korean Karate Soo Bahk Do-Tang Soo Do in Hersonissos was organized and supervised by Kostas Papathopoulos, a Master 4 Dan.

Mr. Papathopoulos is the instructor at the Hersonissos Athletic Association of Martial Arts in Koutouloufari, and also teaches in N. Alikarnassos, where he instructs in the art of Soo Bahk Do-Tang Soo Do, a Korean style of Karate.

Kostas started his training in 1976 in Athens under American Master George Page, who is a fourth Dan, then went on to train with Lee Kun Hwa, who is a sixth Dan Master.

He came to Crete in 1987 and began instructing at the Association’s Club in Koutouloufari in 2000.

Now there are over 50 male and female students between the ages of 5 to 70 years.

The association holds classes Tuesdays and Thursdays, at 17.00, and Saturdays at 10.00. Kostas has organized a National World Championship, arranged seminars and conventions and also organized the first Ko Dan Ja Grading Master Test on Crete.

The association supports many charities and environmental work in the Hersonissos area.
