U2 close contract with Live Nation:

According to sources, U2 have just signed a 10-year contract with Live Nation. The contract concerns their international tours, merchandising and the group’s official site. The contract does not include recording rights, as the group will continue its collaboration with Universal Music. The deal comes at a time when more groups realize the importance and financial dynamic of live performances. Indicatively, the group’s Vertigo tour amassed 400 million dollars in profits.

The Greek Eurovision team is complete:

The team going with Kalomira to Belgrade is: Kostas Kapetanithis, artistic management; Ilias Lethakis, stage direction; Giuliano, choreography; Yiorgos Segrethakis, styling; and Dimitris Yiannetos, make-up, hair; According to sources at the ERT, Victoria Halkiti has undertaken music instruction and Nektarios Georgiathis , vocals.

Red:

One of our musical favourites just released their second completed disc. The Guillemots, after their amazing Through the Windowpane of 2006, go for a simpler composition while they concentrate on the vocal colours of Fyfe Dangerfield. This pop melancholic can touch the more sensitive souls of those ready to listen. Red, although emotionally charged, does not avoid being self-serving while its composition takes very few risks. Missing are the highs of the If the World Ends, or the captivating Redwings.  Perhaps they got overconfident about their vocal abilities or perhaps they sold out early on in their journey. But one thing is sure; we will patiently await their evolution.

Last Night:

What Moby attempted to do with the disc remains a big mystery. Because, you see, the disco motifs might intertwine with house and electro-pop, but the 40-something music producer hasn’t managed to create anything attention-getting. He refuses to accept  that he is no longer in a position to feel the pulse of his era well enough to create anything original, as many before him and probably many more after him. The Everyday It’s 1989 piece makes it clear that the music producer tries to gain by using the tricks of Play except that, that thrilling album was released 10 years ago and it was spot on. Perhaps the album’s title should have warned us… a very forgettable Last Night.
