Victoria and David Beckham become a musical:

You cannot say you didn’t expect it. After all the improprieties and the gossips, the fashion shows, even the entanglement of Beckham in the definition of the metrosexual, came the time for the legendary pair to become a musical. The musical satire, entitled The MacBecks and produced by Long Road Productions, will appear in theatres in January. The director, Ronan Smith, spoke enthusiastically about the work which borrows certain elements from Shakespeare. According to sources, the role of Victoria Beckham will be based on that of Lady Macbeth and it will concern an inexorable and ambitious woman for whom David is called to sacrifice his career. The musical will also showcase other personalities like the manager, Sven Goran Eriksson, Manchester United’s manager Sir Alex Ferguson, and the woman with whom Beckham allegedly maintained an extramarital relationship, Rebecca Loos.

What music does Obama listen to?

Bob Dylan, Yo-Yo Ma, Sheryl Crow, Jay-Z. This is not the line up from some festival, but the artists who appear in U.S. Senator Barack Obama’s iPod. The democratic candidate for American president spoke about his eclectic taste in music. Growing up in the 70s, Obama listened to Rolling Stones, Elton John, Stevie Wonder and other such artists. The album Blood on the Tracks by Bob Dylan has a place of honour on the senator’s playlist, and particularly the Maggie Farm cut where Dylan talks about his efforts to be himself, while everyone around him was trying to change him. Obama also mentions that he finds the misogynous and materialistic hip hop problematic.

Kitsune Tabloid Compiled & Mixed By Digitalism:

There is no doubt that the recording label Kitsune is one of the hottest labels right now. Kitsune’s last release is a collection mixed by Digitalism. The duet that gave us one of the best discs last year, now serves us pieces which marry electro with rock. We come across Shake A Fist by Hot Chip, Raise Me Up by Hercules and Love Affair, and also great remixes like Funplex by B52 in CSS remix and The Things That Dreams Are Made Of by The Human League in a dub mix. It’s the best collection beat-wise of this summer.

Weezer (Red Album):

For the third consecutive time they call their album by the same name (the epithet Red has been given by the fans because of the album’s cover colour, and of course, to distinguish it from its predecessors) and they offer us some very astute verses dressed up with music that rocks. For the duration of the disc, frontman Rivers Cuomo comments on the music industry, the world in which he lives, and does it in a way that concerns us all. But alas, he is not concerned with serious statements, but instead he makes us laugh many times. Characteristically, in the piece Pork and Beans the line reads: Timbaland knows the way to reach the top of the charts and maybe if I work with him I can perfect the art. We believe that Weezer themselves also possess the secret of success by giving us such an intelligent rock disc.
