AGING IN GREECE

Three out of every 10 Greeks will be over 65 years of age by the year 2035, according to information released by the European Statistical Service (Eurostat).

The report showed that people over the age of 65 in Greece will account for 26.3 percent of the population by 2035 (compared to 18.6 percent today) and 31.7 percent by 2060.

In regard to the population of the European Union, it is expected to increase from the present 495 million to 521 million in 2035.
