Killers. An Anthology.
Edited by Colin Harvey
Paperback 233 pages.
Published by Swimming Kangaroo Books
ISBN:978-1-934041-66-6
This anthology contains 11 original short stories which are classed as
cross-genre thrillers by prize winning authors including Bruce
Holland Rogers, Lee Thomas, Jonathan Maberry, Paul Meloy and our own Philip
Lees, a resident of Kokkini Hani. I
found Killers to be a very
readable book with each story well written and featuring a wide range of
“killers”. The stories cover such subjects as human cloning; out of body
experiences; a seemingly innocuous man driving along with a body in his
trunk, and the world of virtual reality – which in this case turns into real
life. I’ve never been a short-story enthusiast, usually finding that
characters do not have time to develop. However, in this anthology all the
aspects of the killers are varied, with each story unique in its own right,
allowing them to develop quickly, dragging you into the plot.
Killers is due out this month,
and will make excellent reading for those last days on the beach – or
anyplace else, for that matter.
