INGREDIENTS
400 ml.
Fresh whole milk
50 gr. Fine semolina
60 gr.
Crystallized sugar
1 stick
vanilla
1 tbsp
milk butter good quality
Fresh filo
type Vyritou
PREPARATION
Into a pan
pour the milk and half the sugar. Put the rest of ingredients into a bowl.
Put the
pan with the milk over low heat and stir until it boils and starts to rise.
Lower the heat even more, add the rest of the ingredients and stir.
Lay out
five lightly buttered layers of fresh Vyritou type filo in a round pan,
criss-cross fashion. Add the mixture from the pan and cover with three
buttered double layers of filo.
Bake at
180 C for about 45 minutes.
As soon as
it turns a golden colour, drain out the butter which hasn’t been absorbed
and pour cold syrup (1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, 1 orange) over it.
