Due to the efforts of the Help At Home Team and aiming at the prevention and awareness on the critical danger of breast cancer, the mobile mammography unit from the Iraklion Prefecture spent three days outside the Gouves Town Hall.

Each day ten women who had previously registered for mammographies were examined and the tests were evaluated by doctors at the Venizelio or University hospitals, and if additional testing or care was needed the women were notified and put on prioritized lists.

 The tests took place in a specially-built vehicle where the mammographer is housed.

The township doctors and the Help At Home team are now making up lists of names for the next time the mobile unit comes to our municipality – in about three months.
