HERSONISSOS NEWS

PARENTS’ SCHOOL
STARTS IN HERSONISSOS

Finally, kids will be able to turn the tables of their parents by saying, “Hurry up or you’ll be late for school!”

Beginning this month, The Hersonissos Township will offer educational programs called “Advisory for Parents” and “Relationship of School-Family,” The programs were designed by the Parents’ School, which was founded and operated by the General Secretariat of Adult Education of the Ministry of Education, and will operate in all the prefectures of the country.  It is supported by the Institute of Continuous Adult Education and it’s co-funded by two European programs.

The project’s aim is the systematic information and education of parents on subjects regarding: improvement of communication in the family; communication of parents and school; improvement of knowledge in parents regarding the psyche, social spiritual and other needs of children in all the stages of development; encouragement of participation for parents in school activities and their cooperation with the educators for a more finite help to their children; improving the parents knowledge and capabilities so they can quickly diagnose and deal with their children’s difficult behaviour, and gaining capabilities so they can reciprocate to the demands of their children’s subsequent education levels.

The total length of the “Advisory for Parents” program is 40 hours, while the “Relationship School-Family” is 20 hours.

The program is directed to parents of all ages, all nationalities, varied education and also to future parents.
