With the gloomy prediction that 2009 will be a difficult year for Greek tourism, 

Tourist Development Minister Aris Spiliotopoulos emphasized, however, that  

"we shall handle it with self confidence."

While speaking at the recent 7th Conference of the Federation of Greek Tourist Businesses (SETE), the minister addressed the subjects of Greece's tourism leadership turning its attention to new markets in 2009, as well as developing new ones, placing emphasis on Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, China, etc.

Moreover, he said the ministry will be implementing a separate strategic marketing plan for the markets of the United States, Britain and Germany.
