The first authentic Indian restaurant in Gouves, to be called The Chilli Lounge, is scheduled to open this spring, according to a recent announcement by Rebecca Patel, the woman behind the project.

 The new restaurant, to be open all year, will be an exciting step in creating a truly ethnic dining area in the township, since The Chilli Lounge will be located less than 100 metres from two Chinese restaurants in Kato Gouves – New China, also open all year, and Sui Yuan, in season.

"I think it's exciting to have a specific area where people can come and have an authentic ethnic culinary experience," Mrs. Patel said. "For example, our restaurant will have chefs from India preparing classic dishes from their homeland in a traditional tandoori oven."

Mrs. Patel said The Chilli Lounge will feature an elegant indoor dining room and lounge, plus a spacious outdoor serving area, and will be decorated with Indian/Marrakesh day beds and other traditional furnishings. It is scheduled to open in April.
