It was a
very happy Christmas for the children of The Dutch School at Piskopiano
which celebrated its annual event, the feast of
Sinterklaas (St. Nicholas), at
The Bull in Kato Gouves.
Sinterklaas,
seen here greeting Pauline
Magkafouraki and her daughter, Sophia,
is
uniquely Dutch and Flemish and is always portrayed in his original vestments
of a bishop, and he is always accompanied by his helper, Black Peter (Piet)
who distributes gifts and sweets.
