Kiss Prepares A New Album:

Kiss recently decided to record a new album – their first in 10 years. Their last album entitled Psycho Circus came out in 1998 with guitarist Paul Stanley in the production end. In the past few years, bass guitarist Gene Simmons has repeatedly stated that he has no intention to deal with production especially given the situation of the music industry during this period.  On the other hand, Paul Stanley has categorically stated that the only way that Kiss would record again is if the group had absolute control over the work, a conclusion he especially reached after releasing his solo album in 2006 entitled Live to Win. Until now, it isn't clear how Kiss plan to distribute their new album, but besides Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer are participating in the production.

Are The Smiths Renewing?

It seems that the members of The Smiths are finally coming to an agreement between them, especially since recently the conflict between Morrissey and guitarist Johnny Marr came to an end. This conflict started when the guitarist left the group back in 1987. The two members recently worked together to create The Sound of the Smiths collection which contains unreleased and rare material. Recently there have been some rumours that have the group, including Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce, playing in the next Coachella, which will take place in California. Morrissey, however, who has had a particularly successful solo career, has stated recently that he prefers to eat his intestines than reunite with the band. And, although this statement comes from a vegetarian, it is particularly meaningful.

Second Hand:

One of the most promising bands in Athens, Night On Earth, has released their second album. In this new undertaking the band decided to ask many top artists to collaborate together. That’s why on the credits of this album we see names like Foti Siota, Pandeli Stoiko, Sofia Efklidou (Wolves’ Breaths), Marili Milia, Lampi Kountouroyianni (Modrec), Dimitri Aroni (also Modrec), Digital Alkemist, Yiorgo Yeorgiadi, Yiota & Hristina (the sexy duet) and Dimitri Miyaki. All these contribute to create an album with a lyrical, dark atmosphere, rich compositions and exceptionally high intensity. Each cut is characterized with such theatricality that you think you are watching a short movie. And that’s exactly how the band describes its latest work on myspace: This Is Not A Soundtrack. This Is The Film.

Circus:

These past months, everyone has been awaiting her resurrection. The moment that Britney Spears can prove that, contrary to popular belief, she has her life under control. And that’s the purpose her album serves. Of course, it’s not a pop masterpiece. The album’s first cut, Womanizer, makes that abundantly clear and no one expects Britney to have a flawlessly produced disk, but it’s all about the dance numbers and her unsettled life.. and after all, even that needs some effort…
