CRETE STARS IN DUTCH QUIZ SHOW

If you spotted a film crew shooting at various locations in villages throughout the Iraklion area, we hope you didn't have expectations of grabbing a glimpse at Brad or Angelina.

The crew was from the Dutch television station E.O., which circled the island for 12 days last month shooting scenes for their popular quiz show, The Omega Code.

The quiz targets kids age eight to 12, and is based on the Bible, where, through questions accompanied by short scenes, the contestants are asked to crack a particular code.

Patrick Verschueren of Gournes, who has a thorough knowledge of the area, served as the crew's guide, taking it to rural spots with archeological background.

"Although it was very hectic, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience," Patrick said. "I do realize now, though, that television is a whole different ball-game."

The quiz is scheduled to be shown in May 2009 on Dutch National Television and replayed on the satellite station BVN.
