SCIENCE EDITOR JOINS
THE KHRONICLES STAFF

Jasmine Farsaraki, a biochemistry graduate and professional science journalist, has been named science editor of The Khronicles, it was announced by the newspaper's publisher, Sofia Klidi.

"Jasmine is an experienced and talented writer and will be a valued addition to our growing staff," Ms. Klidi said. "She has the unique ability of reporting on important scientific and medical issues in a language the layman can understand."

As part of her responsibilities as science editor, Jasmine will author the monthly column, Scientific Crete, reporting on the latest breakthroughs in the field and how they may affect the average residents.

The daughter of Kay and Yiannis Farsarakis of Gournes, Jasmine was born in the USA and raised in Iraklion. She currently resides in Gournes and London.

She started her career as a science editor at the prestigious Nature Publishing Group in London, working on scientific and medical journals and magazines such as Nature, and was the associate editor of Nature Clinical Practice Rheumatology journal.

Currently a freelance editor for the British Medical Journal and Diabetes Digest, Jasmine is also co-author of several books on popular science and writes weekly news articles for the Nature China website.
