FUND RAISER FOR FLOWERS

The International Committee (INCO) of the Cultural Organisation of the Foreign Residents of Aghios Nikolaos is holding a prize draw to raise money primarily for the cost of fencing the 'Flowers of Crete' Nature Reserve at Vrahassi.

This raffle will be drawn on March 21 at BioAroma in Aghios Nikolaos, following a talk and slide show on the "Endangered Wild Flowers of Crete" by Nick Turland.

The first prize has been donated by Yiorgos Nicolaides, General Manager of Crete-Sailing and is a two day skippered cruise for six people out of Iraklion sailing to Spinalonga and Plaka (valued at over 2,000 Euros) on the yacht Eleni, with the date of the cruise to be agreed with Yiorgos, depending on weather conditions and availability.

Maurice Sheppard, a member of the group, said any remaining funds after the fencing is completed will be used to promote the reserve and the work of Flowers of Crete.

Raffle tickets at five Euros each are available at Revolution Café Bar in Vrahassi and several other locations. Call 6945-872472 for more details.
