Sinead O'Connor in Athens:

One of the most unique voices in the world musical scene is scheduled to visit Athens on June 12 to perform at the Karaiskaki Stadium. Sinead O'Connor has collaborated with such artists as Prince, Elton John, Roger Walters and Richard Wright from Pink Floyd. No one can forget her successes like Nothing Compares, Troy, and The Emperor's New Clothes which we await to hear together with her more recent material. The concert will begin with a Greek group that is progressively gaining bigger attention, Kosti Maravegia and his band, followed by Filippo Pliatsika.  A special guest at the event will be Gordon Gano from the Violent Femmes.

Eminem brakes digital record:

It's the record for most download buys during the first weekend for the single, Crack A Bottle. The piece sold almost 418,000 copies online only in the USA, but naturally it has yet to become the globally all-time most successful single. At this time, it's at third place on the American charts, while Just Dance by Lady GaGa and Low by Flo Rida occupy the second. According to Billboard, Crack A Bottle at this moment is found on the number one spot of the most hot pieces and it's the rapper's first single in four years. It includes contributions by Dr. Dre and 50 Cent.

Working On A Dream:

Although Bruce Springsteen will be sixty this year, he deserves the award for the most active and reliable old rocker. Naturally, an important factor for the recent rebirth of his popularity is his support of President Obama, cultivating a relationship which has helped them both. In the aftermath of the American elections, Springsteen remains strong and fighting, giving us his 16th personal album. He uses sentimental ballads and notes from westerns to tell us some personal and time tested stories. And he comes out a winner.

Tina! Greatest Hits 1966-2008:

As you would expect, the collection in question has its good and bad, like any other collection. It is something like a musical summary, good for someone who is not up on Tina but unnecessary for those who have followed her footsteps. On the tracklist we come across some pieces from her first footsteps with Ike, as well as some more recent ones. The collection confirms that Tina Turner, even though a grandmother, remains the grand lady of rock. Even Madonna could not disagree.
