Thiagoras 1 v Elpithes 1

The match, played in a swirling wind, started with Elpithes kicking off into the wind and, after only two minutes, Thiagoras' Marios Somerakis put in a good cross to Dimitris Karagounis, but the shot went just over the bar. There was a lot of nice interchanging by Thiagoras, which left Elpithes chasing shadows. There was a good interception by Thiagoras' Alexis Tsagournis who took on three players, but his shot was wide. Excellent through ball from Nikos Yiakoumakis but the Elpithes keeper, Yiorgos Halkiathakis came out to make a good save. At the other end a fine shot by Yiorgos Sortirakis but was just offside and then, after 11 minutes, a long clearance by Thiagoras' keeper, Pavlos Agrimanis to Dimitris Karagounis who beat the offside trap to fire in the first goal. It was all Thiagoras now, with Somerakis shooting just over the bar. A terrific move between Somerakis and Karagounis ended with the ball in the goal but was ruled offside by the referee. Karagounis shot again but it was saved by Halkiathakis and this was followed by a shot from Somerakis which hit the post from an acute angle.

In the second half Elpithes had the strong wind behind them and Costas Hristoglou had a good run down the right wing, but his shot was well saved by Agrimanis. A neat cross from Sotirakis to Kostas Famelis left him free but he shot wide. Elpithes were now using the wind to their advantage with Yiorgos Hristakis shooting just over the bar. A fee kick to Elpithes from the edge of the box was well blocked by the Thiagoras defence. Nikos Yiakoumakis had his shot well saved by the Elpithes keeper after a good run. Elpithes won a corner kick and a shot by Famelis was kicked off the line by Kostas Thelistathis. With five minutes to go Sotirakis made a good run, shot and scored to level the match.

The Khronicles "Man of the Match" is Thiagoras' Dimitris Karagounis for his constant threat to the Elpithes defence with his pace.

Romanos 2 v Thiagoras 1

This local derby started with Romanos kicking off into a strong wind and rain. First on target was Romanos with Stavros Spanakis' shot being blocked by Vorizamakis. A fine run by Thiagoras' Pavlos Moraitakis, who shot across the goal with Marios Somerakis just not able to reach the ball. Romanos countered with a 30-meter shot by Myron Kolaretakis which went into the goal much to the surprise of the Thiagoras goalkeeper, who later made amends with a terrific save from a shot by Tsanithakis. Most of the play was now in the midfield, but then Strinzis passed to Somerakis whose shot clipped the bar. This was followed by a great save by Kioupakis, again off Somerakis. In the beginning of the second half it was mostly midfield again, but with Romanos looking the strongest, but it was 20 minutes in before a shot was made at goal by Kolaretakis, which went over the bar. A mistake by the Romanos defence let in Moraitakis to score from an acute angle. Straight form the restart, with only the Thiagoras goalkeeper to beat, Tsanithakis shot wide. A dangerous cross by Koleratakis was punched out by the Thiagoras keeper, Pavlos Agrimanis. A frantic final five minutes with shots at both ends resulted in a cross finding Protoyerakis unmarked and he headed the ball into the goal in the 89th minute to make the final score 2 – 1.

The Khronicles "Man of the Match" is Romanos' Myrοn Kolaretakis for his effort and always causing problems with the Thiagoras defence.
