Police authorities have confirmed a body found in Iraklion Harbour is that of Jean Hanlon of Kato Gouves reported missing since early March.

Jean, 53, formerly known as Jean Porter, was originally from Dumfries, Scotland, and lived in Kato Gouves since 2005. She is survived by three sons and other family members.

Police said Miss Hanlon was last seen in the Marina Cafe in Iraklion's port area, and her body was discovered four days later. As of this writing, the police have not revealed any information regarding the cause of death or whether or not foul play was involved.

Her sons are appealing to the public to help with any information concerning the circumstances leading to her death.
