The percentage of Greek
adolescents, aged 12-15, with regular daily or even once-a-week use of a
computer totaled 88.2
percent, while the percentage of juveniles using the Internet totaled 71.7
percent over the same period, the National Statistics Service announced
recently. The percentage of the same group
using a mobile telephone over the same period totaled 86.5
percent. At the same time, a report released by the Observatory
for the Greek Information Society stated that there was a sharp rise in
internet use by Greek households in 2008, but the 35 to 54 age group still
lag behind the European average, unlike the younger generation. The wider
availability of broadband is said to be a contributing factor in the
adoption of new technologies. |
