Noted Cretan writer Dimitris Theodosakis visited the residents at the Model
Old Age Home to discuss his books, the Cretan dialect, the power of
language, and the "gratitude we ought to show our elders for building such a
beautiful world for us." To show their
appreciation, the elderly at the home dedicated amazing Cretan limericks to
Mr. Theodosaki and gave him many good wishes to keep him company in his
walks in life.
The
author's books, Letters to My Son,
Traditional Stories and In an Old
Village are used daily as aids in recollection exercises and in the
reading program of the elderly.
