GUITAR STUDENT TAKES GOLD


Dimitris Vrisimitzakis, a student at the Alikarnassos municipal conservatoire, received first prize and a gold medal in the Pan-Hellenic Guitar Competition, held at the Karolos Koun Art Auditorium.

Dimitris, who is only 13 years old, interpreted the work of Leo Brouwer, Gerald Schwertberger, Johann Strauss, Matteo Carcassi, and Johann Sebastian Bach.

The chairperson of the municipal conservatoire, Mrs. Maria Patitaki, commented that "congratulations must also be given to all the music teachers for their continuing effort to cultivate correctly the music know-how and enhance the students' particular talents."
