CHESS WINNERS ANNOUNCED


Nikos Papandreou, President of the Iraklion Chess Group, has won the first place cup in the general category in the 2nd Filonidio Chess Tournament, organized with the cooperation of Iraklion Chess Group and the Hersonissos Chess Academy.

The tournament, played in ten-minute sets of quick chess and five rounds, was organized by the Filonidios Cultural Association in Hersonissos.

Other winners were: Giorgos Bounakis, 1st place cup in the under 16 category, and

Zaharis Pervolarakis, won 1st place in the under 11 category. All competitors received commemorative certificates.
