Whitney Houston's Spectacular Billboard Chart Entry:

The 4th album by Whitney Houston to make it to first place on the Billboard charts was I Look To You; in just one week it sold 305,000 copies. It's spectacular because her album, Just Whitney, in 2002, only climbed to the 9th position despite the fact that it was released during the Christmas season.  Her soundtrack from the film Bodyguard in 1993 also climbed to number one and remained on top for 20 weeks. First on the charts were also her first two albums, while her second, Whitney, became the first album by a female that, upon entering the charts, immediately leapt into first place.

The Cranberries Return:

The group will go on their first tour in seven years, and will extend to North America and Europe. Besides their known hits, we can expect several new cuts. Last January, singer Dolores Riordan played together with the members of her band for the first time since 2003, when they dissolved their partnership in Dublin. Of course, according to the band's official site, the band never dissolved; it just suspended its operation. Whether we can expect some future recordings is something only time can tell.

Hail To The Thief:
Special Collectors Edition:

There aren't many things one can say about Radiohead that would not be considered as just babble. However, every time a new collection/special edition/ep/free download, whatever, makes its appearance in the shops, our hand goes effortlessly into the pocket and any new Radiohead goes immediately into our record library. Hail To The Thief did not manage to overshoot the brilliant Kid A, which has longevity, although it admittedly has its own particular character. In the new release that just circulated, we have an occasion to also enjoy a second additional disk with B-sides and remixes. For obvious reasons, Christian Vogel's remix in Myxomatosis and Four Tet's in Scatterbrain stand out.

Humbug:

The new disk by Arctic Monkeys, which took a long time to produce, is perhaps the last one to present a different persona of theirs. Perhaps it was the preoccupation of Alex Turner with the Last Shadow Puppets that matured him; perhaps, again, it was just meant to be, but Humbug reveals to us one seriously melancholic front man, who thinks of times past, gets drunk with only his guitar as company and whispers in the microphone in such a way that shows him to be a big future star. The recording's highlights include Secret Doors and Crying Lightning, both of which have already begun to be played quite often in the mp3 players around town.

BEYONCE COMES TO TOWN

Beyonce fans throughout the country are eagerly awaiting the sultry singer's
Athens
concert on November 8 at the OAKA Olympic basketball stadium in Marousi.

The announcement of her upcoming appearance follows the Madonna and AC/DC JumboTronic
sell-out shows and lends credence to Greece’s recognition as an attractive
concert destination for true, headline performers.
