HATZIS OPENS CAR WASH;
CHANGES AT RESTAURANT

The Hatzis shopping and entertainment complex in the heart of Kokkini Hani has announced the opening of the area's only automatic car wash, which is located in the parking lot across from the supermarket.

In addition, Yiannis Fragiathakis, owner of the complex, has announced several changes at the Hatzis Restaurant, including its winter-hours schedule and a new head chef.

"This latest car cleaning technology is designed to completely wash the outside of a car and then apply a hot-wax coating, all in six minutes," Mr. Fragiathakis said. "In addition, we provide complete car cleaning, inside and out, a special colour restoration treatment, upholstery cleaning, hand waxing, steam-cleaning of engines, oil changes, and a car accessory shop."

At the popular Hatzis restaurant, the new man in the kitchen is Head chef  Antonis Havadakis, formerly the first cook at the critically acclaimed six-star Amirandes Hotel in Gouves.

"Antonis is the chef I had in mind since opening the restaurant, but he was not available at the time," Mr. Fragiathakis said. "I'm very excited about him coming on board."

Chef Antonis, 34, is a native of Atsipades in southern Crete, and a graduate of the ASTE in Rhodes.

When asked about menu changes, he said: "I will slowly be making some changes, but since Hatzis has the finest steaks available, I will be making choices that complement such a fine beef-oriented restaurant. In salads for example, the dressing will be simple, so as not to overshadow the beef. When you have such a primo product like the beef we offer, less is more. Just salt on the steak and let the flavour jump out."

(Editor's note: Chef Antonis' cooking tips will be a regular monthly feature in The Khronicles).

Mr. Fragiathakis also announced the restaurant's new winter hours, opening only for coffee and sweets on Mondays and Tuesdays from morning until five o'clock.  Wednesdays to Saturdays, coffee and sweets will be served all day, with the kitchen opening at 16.30; Sundays and holidays it will be open for both lunch and dinner.

In addition to the restaurant, car wash and supermarket, the Hatzis group also features the ΔΩΡΟ-προτάσεις gift shop, a post office and a Western Union station.
