Keeping Warm This Winter

Dear Mr. Fix-it:

I recently installed central heating in my 15-year-old house, and I am losing much of the costly heat through the old draughty windows and doors. How can I fix this problem without getting into the high cost of installing new fixtures?

 After making sure that the windows and doors are aligned properly, go to your local hardware store for some double thick, sticky back window insulation tape, which costs about three euros for six meters (you can rip the double tape in half and have 12 meters; both work very well!). Before fixing the tape between the windows and frame, clean the wood surfaces with paint remover or white spirits to insure a solid adhesiveness. For your doors, buy special door stripping and place along the bottom.
