Clash's London Calling in auction:

The authentic artwork of Clash's album, London Calling, has been auctioned for £72,000 (80,071 euros). The sketches, drawings and paintings that led to the 1979 disk, sold at the Bonhams Auction House in December, coincided with the 30th anniversary of the release of the initial disk. Beyond artwork, they also auctioned off two signed, rare photographs of the band. Ray Lowry, who did the artwork for London Calling, was a well-known cartoonist who died last year.

Candidates for Grammy Awards:

Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Kings Of Leon, Taylor Swift and Black Eyed Peas are some of the groups that will be candidates for this year's Grammy awards. The former singer of Destiny's Child is a candidate for a total of ten awards, including album of the year, cut of the year and best woman pop interpretation. Yeah Yeah Yeahs are candidates for the best alternative album, due to the third completed disk, It's Blitz, that was released  last year. In the same category, competes Phoenix for Wolfgang Amadeus Phonenix. Two other groups we hear a lot about in recent times, Ting Tings and MGMT are candidates in the category of best first-time artist. The Grammys will take place January 31 at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.

Andrew Bird: "Noble Beast":

This the first album after the  Armchair Apocrypha," his most successful album with over 100,000 sold in the USA, for the astonishing Andrew Bird. A Renaissance form of modern alternative scene, the multitalented and multifaceted violinist, singer/songwriter and "man who is everywhere" in the last two years, found the time for one more pop work of art. Recorded in Nashville with Mark Nevers (Lambchop) and in Chicago, at the Wilco studio, Noble Beast is different, near the concept of Weather Systems, with lots  of style, with Bird at the apex of his expressive maturity and singing technique.

Abe Vigoda: Reviver:

Being characterized already as a typical group of electro-punk, due to their relation with No Age, the amazing Abe Vigoda follow their debut album, Skeleton, with a new EP, which is leaping over Skeleton already, opening new streets for them, but also for alternative rock. The EP is the best they have made, an impressive punk sample and electro garage with decisive interventions towards a Tropicalia issues and rhythm, and close to what Yeasayer or Vampire Weekend do, only more… unique and original!
