CHESS TOURNAMENT IN MEMORY…



 
Tough battles are being fought at the Alikarnassos First Closed Chess Tournament which has been organized by the Iraklion Chess Association, in memory of Mihail Mamoulakis.

At the time this article was being penned and after the fifth round, four players were found at the top with 4 points each. The players are, Yiorgos Markakis, Haris Mamoulakis (nephew of the deceased), both pictured in photo and are candidates for the gold, Dimitris Kosmadakis and Nikos Papandreou. The sixth and final round ends 7th of February.

The rounds take place at the Alikarnassos Youth Polycentre and the tournament is sponsored by the Alikarnassos Demos.
