The ceremony of blessing the waters at the CretAquarium
took place with His Eminence Irineos, the Archbishop of Crete throwing
the cross into the aquarium's central tank. Present were the local parish priests
and officials of the Aquarium, as well as representatives from local government.

In Gournes, the Epiphany was celebrated with parish priests, Father Emmanuil Liakakis and Father Leonidas Hatzakis, as they blessed the waters at the marina on the old base and threw the cross for the local divers.  As part of the festivities, sweets and drinks were served courtesy of the Gournes Cultural Association.

Epiphany was celebrated with splendour this year at two locations in the Malia Township: at the Palm Region in Stalida and at the Tourist Harbour in Malia. Present were His Eminence Bishop Nektarios, local clergy and government officials, as well as a crowd of local residents.

In Kokkini Hani, Father Yiorgos Metohianakis, pastor of the Axion Estin Parish, blessed the waters and then threw out the cross for a total of six divers: Ilias Androutsos, Marios Vasilakis, Pandelis Kosmathakis, Manos Karafakis, Gapsnu Hatzaki and Haralambos Amonahakis.

the blessing of the waters by father Iraklis Ploumis
and the throwing of the cross which followed.
