CARNIVAL 2010

 CARNIVAL MAGIC IN
NEA ALIKARNASSOS

Mardi Gras was celebrated in grand style at the Alikarnassos municipality as a rich program of cultural events was organized.

Everyone had a chance to ride in the "fun train" and to take part in the festivities that followed at the Community Youth Polycentre. The festivities included a music and dance event with food, a magic act and a clown. All children present received gifts.

CARNIVAL IN MALIA

The area's largest and most festive celebration took place once again in Malia, as hundreds of participants in costume marched to the cheers of thousands of spectators.

The Celebration of the 'Cheerful Vampires'

The Foreign Language Centre Tziraki in Kato Gouves happily participated in the Iraklion Carnival with more than 70 teachers, students and parents all dressed as “Cheerful Vampires”.

JUNIOR SCHOOL IN DRESS UP

The children of Ano Hersonissos junior school put on their very finest fancy dress costumes for Carnival Day. They were joined by their teachers who also sported some excellent costumes to enjoy the fun, before a short break to take advantage of the food and drink provided, and then it was back to the live music and more fun.
A tombola was organised by the Parents Union, and some excellent prizes were donated by the local community, as well as special gifts from Minoan Lines and Anek Lines and Superfast Ferries, which all helped raise money for school projects.

KOKKINI HANI FUN

The Carnival Celebration of the Kokkini Hani Elementary School was held at the Hatzis restaurant with many parents and teachers participating in the festive rhythms.

The children formed dance teams and competed for prizes, using original songs and dance routines.

The Kokkini Hani Kindergarten also held its carnival event at Hatzis with many gifts going to the children and a prize for the best adult costume.

The Parent and Guardian Association from both schools thank Mr. Yiannis Fragkiathakis for his good will and support.
