Edge of Darkness

In his first major role since 2002, Mel Gibson is back at his best, albeit looking a bit older, giving a powerful performance as a veteran homicide detective. As he and his 24-year-old daughter, Emma (Bojana Novakovic), are walking past their house she is shot and killed. Everybody thinks that Craven was the intended target but he starts to suspect that Emma was the real target as he starts his own investigation, which leads to corporate and government cover ups. The film, directed by Martin Campbell, is full of suspense, although a little slow at times. But there are some dynamic action scenes to hold your interest, although some may be a little heavy on the violence.
