Irida, the Cultural Association of Women in the Gouves municipality, had its general assembly and the cutting of the New Year cake at the CreteAquarium. The members of the Administrative Council assessed all 2009 proceeds, and the president of the association, Mrs. Hrisi Petsalaki, recapped all the cultural and informative events that took place.  

The Association is in the process of creating individual teams of women in each village to inform the rest of the members about upcoming activities. The vice-president of the association, Mrs. Renia Drosou, spoke about the annual plan of action of Irida, which aims to preserve and protect the institution of family by programming different activities for each family member, especially older people and children.

Members of the association proposed several activities to commemorate upcoming events, such as excursions.

The assembly closed with the cutting of the cake which was courtesy of Spyridon Sweet Shop.  Finally, everyone feasted on the delicious buffet which was prepared by members of the association.
