Simon King's autobiography, Wildlife, which details his close relationships with all of the wild animal kingdom, was published last August and jumped straight to number five in the Sunday Times Bestseller List for Non Fiction. The author was born in Kenya, and his earliest memory of wildlife was of an ostrich, but even then he was very passionate about all wild life. His family moved to the UK when he was two and he continued with his fascination with wildlife. He starred in a film called The Fox at the age of 10, and from then on his life has been totally wrapped up in wildlife. He often makes fun of himself, and tells many stories which make you laugh out loud, as well as some scary moments, like being charged by very angry elephants and attacked by a rabid cheetah…but all are told with an edge of humour. All are excellently told and this book is difficult to put down once you start reading it.
