AEK KYPRIOTAKIS (
The Malia team did not get the three points they needed to ensure its stay
in the championship games A1 EPSI. Only two more games remain and the team
needs one win. The game with AEK was open with a lot of plays but with more
substance from the home team. Baboulakis opened the score in the 4th
minute with an impossible shot. On the 15th Tzanakis made it 1-1.
Zoumi with a head shot made it 2-1 on the 42nd. On the 70th
Izeze made it 3-1 and Kassotakis on the 80th, after a pass from
Psalidakis, closed it at 4-1.
AEK stars were Kassotakis and Baboulakis and from Malia were Piteros and
Tzanakis.
Asteras Rethymno 1 – Mohos 0
The Mohos team continued on with another defeat. The team went to the game
with only 12 players. This defeat, combined with their previous defeat by
Minotavros, brings Mohos just one step before being demoted to A’ local.
Throughout the game the Rethymnians were in much better form. In the first
half Mohos had its first and last chance to score when Xydakis after an
error from Mantadakis did not reach the net.
Asteras lost a lot of opportunities, also with Mikropoulo in the 12th,
Mourtzano in the 14th and 42nd, and Baxevani in the 15th,
28th, 55th and 59th.
Finally they scored in the 76th
with Tsagkaraki, who from the right side kicked a centre-cross pass the
Mohos goalkeeper Kerentzis and a final score of 1-0 for Rethymnon.
PAO Gouves 0 v
Tilisos 3
Tilisos kicked off the game, but in the opening ten minutes there were no chances for either team. Then, a good move from Tilisos ended with Patounas shooting wide. From a free kick, Pagalakis crossed the ball to Patounas, but again he headed wide. A great chance came for Gouves, but Strintzis’ shot went straight to the goal keeper. It was not a good for half for either team. In the second half in the 50th minute Tilisos had a penalty after Katsaitis made a mistake and brought down Patounas in the penalty area. Garis took the penalty and scored to make the score 0-1. A good run of play by Gouves ended with Toufexis shooting at goal, but again the ball was over the bar. Tilisos had the ball in the Gouves net after 78 minutes but were ruled offside. Then came a chance for Tilisos’ Vereroudakis, but he shot straight at the goal keeper, but a minute later, in the 86th, he had another chance and made the score 0-2. At the end, the Tilisos goal keeper found Pagalakis, who beat the defenders, to score, making the final score 0-3. The Khronicles “Man of the Match” was Garis of Tilisos who commanded their defence right from the start. Thiagoras (Anopoli)
2 v Asimi (Mesara) 1
Thiagoras started the match straight into the attack with Kallipolitis heading the ball to Karagkounis and in less than one minute Thiagoras were ahead. This early goal seemed to upset Asimi and they were finding it hard to find any rhythm. A good move by Thiagoras let in Evstathiou, but, instead of passing, he tried to beat the keeper and failed. Asimi had their first threat at goal with a free kick taken by Yiannoulakis, who hit the post, but the rebound fell to Zaharakis, who shot and scored in the 30th minute to make it 1-1. Asimi made a bright start to the second half with Thiagoras on the defensive, and then a corner from Thiagoras was kicked off the line by the Asimi defence. After 55 minutes, a break by Thiagoras let in Evstathiou who ran on and scored to make it 2-1. Near the end, the Asimi substitute made a terrific run and the shot at goal went agonizingly close. The Khronicles “Man of the Match” was Yiorgos Thelistathis who was outstanding in the heart of the Thiagoras defence. Romanos Football Club, Elia:
Romanos have made sure you do not miss their ground with the use of yellow and black seats in their new stand. Romanos, at the time of writing, are on top of the Α2’ ΕΠΣΗ league with 69 points, five points ahead of Marathonas who are in second position. |
