By Mary Higgins
Clark Published by
Simons & Schuster Fans of Mary Higgins Clark will begin to wonder how many more best sellers she can churn out as she will be 81 this year. This is rather a convoluted tale involving a deceased nun, Sister Catherine, who had a secret love child who was adopted before she took up holy orders. Now she is being considered for sainthood, as many miracles of healing have been attributed to her. The story involves a paediatrician, who is actually the nun’s granddaughter, and the nun’s 82 year old dying cousin, who is the only one to know the truth about the child’s father. Questions about mixing medical science and religious faith are dealt with, and the plot has many twists and turns. Having read many of Mary Higgins Clark’s books this was rather predictable in parts and some of the characters were a little unrealistic.
