Help Greece -
Holiday There!

TOURISM ACTION IS
TOO LITTLE, TOΟ LATE

As tourists from around the world react to Greece’s financial crisis and its resulting continuous strike actions by canceling holiday reservations, the tourism ministry hastily created a new committee to try to deal with the situation.

Called the Special Committee on Managing the Crisis in Tourism, the new agency’s responsibility is to develop a coordinated action to reverse the negative climate that has been shaped for Greek tourism.
An advertising campaign was created that will bear the message "You in Greece" and will accompany the printed material and the videos that will travel to all the corners of the world.

The aim of the coordinated action is to avert the further cancellation of reservations by appealing to the potential visitor, one who is already considering Greece as a holiday destination, by stressing that Greece remains safe and hospitable.

The campaign will include press conferences in main market cities, the production of informative material that will be sent regularly to overseas offices of the Greek Tourist Organization (EOT), to its website and to all travel journalists.

On Crete, where tourism insiders are predicting the most dismal season in recent history, the new action is being regarded as a case of being too little, too late.
