TRIAL POSTPONED FOR
‘THE GOUVES THREE’

 
The trial of three local community leaders, arrested for "hindering vehicular traffic"
during a peaceful protest at the old American base in Gournes, has been postponed until April of next year.

The three, Vasiliki Alexaki, Dimitris Vrysalis and Dimitris Souliotakis, were “apprehended”
in December, 2007, for demonstrating in front of the main gate to the base to protest against
the state selling enormous parcels of base property to commercial entrepreneurs.  

Many witnesses, including Gouves Mayor Yiorgos Nikolakakis, congregated at the court in
support of the three defendants before the judge ordered the postponement.
