Dear John:

I must say, when I heard about Stephanie being featured in last month’s issue of The Khronicles, I got a little upset. I also have been a resident at Aquaworld for the past ten years and I just don’t see why Stephie should steal all the limelight!

Don’t forget, I am a proud African spurred tortoise, also known by my formal name of Geochelone sulcata, and I’m only around eighteen years old, although I know I give the impression of being far more advanced in years.

I expect to be around here for a long time, since my life span is about 150 years, and I’ll reach a weight of 100 kilos, if you keep feeding me that great diet of fruit and salad and letting me continue with my exercise regime which includes marching at top speed around the aquarium gardens for hours on end each day.

And, I can be just as “charming” as Stephie!
