You have missed the Roving Reporter in last month’s edition? Well, he’s back! Here’s the question of this month:
“What is the best Christmas present you’ve ever received?”

Nicole Voss, originally from Hamburg, now lives in Gournes with her six-year-old son, Yiannis: The Christmas present that sticks in my mind the most was at age six when Santa Claus paid me a visit. After he left the house I was told to bring something from the kitchen where I ran into this beautiful bicycle that was left there for me. Out of nowhere it had appeared and it gave me the sense for the rest of my life that Christmas is truly magical.

Adonis Lamprakis is a native of Kokkini Hani and the manager/owner of Kypseli Super Market: That's easy. The best Christmas present I ever received is my beautiful car, a Hyundai Sports Coupe. I wanted one for the longest time and was saving my money, and then at Christmas four years ago my family surprised me with a gift and I was able to buy it. It's my pride and joy, and I always keep it perfectly
polished.

Anna Lanzillotta lives in Gournes with her husband and daughter. Originally from
Torino, Italy, she and her husband came to Greece in 1989: I remember all Christmas presents with fondness and
warmth. But perhaps the time that stands out the most is the first
Christmas Eve we ever spent in Greece. I talked my husband into spending a romantic holiday on the island
Ios. I thought it would only take two hours to get there by boat and the island was so
beautiful….in summer. The trip took seven hours, and we spent our first Christmas hours on a
boat! When arriving on Ios, the island was deserted. Some garbage truck drivers gave us a lift to the nearest town at three in the morning and everything was
closed. My best Christmas present? The garbage truck driver's cousin opened his summer hotel just for us so we had a place to
stay.

Ronny Peskens, a native of Belgium, now lives in Kokkini Hani: The best Christmas gift I have ever had is not what Santa brought me. It is the Christmas almost 30 years ago when I got married to my wonderful wife, Lea. Although we're both from Belgium, we were married on December 22, 1978 - in Cologne, Germany. This was because her father served the Belgium army which had a base in Germany in the neighbourhood of Cologne. That was the best Christmas present ever because I get to enjoy it every day of my life. My wife does, too – I hope.

Teresa Massey, originally from Great Britain, lives in Kokkini Hani and runs Teresa's Laundry Service on Anopoli Road: I would probably have to say the mobile phone my husband gave me a few years ago is the best, or at least the most useful, Christmas present I received in a while. At the time I didn't want a mobile (I mean, you really can't wear it around your neck like a nice necklace) but now I am very glad I have one and wouldn't be without it.
