 Kindred spirits, shared dreams and mutual goals. . . . spirits who seem to live in their own little worlds that are surprisingly alike . . . dreams of creating and designing with any material that crosses our path . . . goals to achieve high standard quality in everything one does. . . . no short-cuts, no bad material, no copies, everything unique . . . making a buck while one is at it ain’t half bad either!
B-Younique.com is the off-spring of the above, the three-month-old baby created by Catrin Johansson, Patrick Verschueren and myself.

 We started out designing jewelry. One-of-a-kind necklaces, bracelets and earrings made from anything nature’s willing to provide. Rough stones, hand made silver, shell, wood…..ringed and stringed into little works of art that only do themselves justice when worn.
Then, handbags just had to be added to our collection. Hand painted, hand embroidered, unique little personality statements for every woman. Designed to wear and use.
Painters at heart, as we are, we felt the need to promote the work of artists living on Crete. This need was filled immediately, as we are not of the patient kind, by adding our ArtBroz department, handling the works of acknowledged painters, sculptors, writers, and other artists. Our web-shop is the tool, the means, of bringing all these wonderful works out into the world.
Catrin, sign-maker par excellence, got us started on the road of designing specialized signs, both exterior and interior designs for the local market. These included things like Picasso on Plexiglas and pop-art on tables for a cafeteria, 3D clogs and letters for a restaurant, metal doors with hand and foot coming out for a bar. Works, which would have been impossible for most, were a challenge for us. Extraordinarily beautiful assignments that gave us the opportunity to make a name for our shop, while, at the same time, create something special for the local area business establishments.
The designing of company logos became a logical addition to our work, as well as creating slogans that add an exclamation point to the company name. |

 Our future plans include the addition of a knitwear collection, organizing work-shops, T-shirt design, graphic design, product design and advertising. Most of these are already in the planning stages. We expect to be introducing our T-shirts sometime this summer, and after-season workshops are planned for candle-making, painting on fabric and creating cards for the holidays. Several articles have already been completed for our knitwear collection, which is called "The KnitZ." Our collection of belts should be on-line within the month.
And, while all this is going on, we are in the midst of opening our accessories shop at Star Beach in Hersonissos, and, hopefully, bow to the demands of thousands of tourists.
Yes, you can say we're busy – and we intend to stay that way!
Everyone is welcome to pass by at our shop on Star Beach or drop in to our studio workshop in Gournes. Any design queries you may have will be solved over a cup of coffee. Our motto is: Be You . . . Be-Younique – everything's possible. |
